Kaumātua Housing – Bastion Point We were honoured to be entrusted with this project on our whenua at Bastion Point, creating warm, healthy, and future-ready whare for our kaumātua. This development carries deep meaning for our iwi, overlooking the city with stunning views and providing housing that truly respects and supports our elders.

This project also marked the beginning of our strong relationship with G.J. Gardner Homes, who led the build. Working alongside them was a privilege and an important step in continuing to deliver high-quality housing projects for our community.

Our scope of mahi included a range of modern electrical solutions designed to ensure comfort, safety, and energy efficiency for our kaumātua:

  • Solar panels to reduce energy costs and promote sustainability
  • Keypad entry doorbells for simple and secure access
  • SmartVent systems to provide clean, healthy air throughout the homes
  • Bollard street lighting for safe movement around the community
  • All electrical installations completed to a high standard

These homes stand as a testament to what can be achieved when iwi, council, and contractors work together — not only providing essential housing but also enhancing the mana and wellbeing of our kaumātua.
